Comments Overall good swim and bike but another tough run. Felt nutrition (gatorade endurance) did not mix well and started feeling it on run. Overall, a good experience at the world's toughest Ironman. Feel a need to arrive in Kona several days before race to acclimate to climate for maximum performance. USAT announced just prior to the race that the swim would be cut in half due to rough water so lost my advantage.....finished 2nd by 25 seconds. Bike course was rough in spots....saw many flats. Well run event....back in Milwaukee next year. Meghan had a good race finishing 5th A/G in Sprint event. My first full Ironman since Kona in 2016....one of the toughest courses in U.S. A typical well run WTC event in a very scenic upstate New York location. Earned a Kona spot for October and accepted. Meghan completed her first Ironman as well.....nice race with a 6th place A/G finish. Meghan and I entered event at last minute due to NYC being cancelled. Always a fun, well organized event by CGI. Meghan also had a good race finishing 3rd overall OLY. First time ever event was cancelled a few days before race because of heat Late minute decision to do this local event since no Phila race this year. Organized by Kinectic Sports who put on over 50 events. Meghan finished 1st o/a female Sprint. 1st race of season, no flat like last year. well run event by Lifetime Fitness. Sister Meghan finished 3rd o/a female. We both qualified for NYC Lifetime championship swim was cancelled then the entire event was cancelled day before due to impending heavy rains overall great event held in Port Elizabeth, South Africa....very happy with results....4:21 overall time....17 out of 430 in a/g....lost water bottle and Garmin around mile 25....run was two loops in front of big crowds along Beach Ave....awesome scenery great event held in Cleveland on Lake Erie shore, swim was rough, good bike and run courses....reached goal of national age group champion another well run CGI event....good weather....good race overall good race.....well organized Lifetime Fitness Championship event....record hot temps in NYC my first dnf....was in 2nd catching up to leader on bike when hit manhole cover....total flat and damaged wheel.....race over. Meghan got 3rd overall female in Sprint run was again difficult but good enough to qualify for Worlds race was going well until flatted rear tire with five miles to go.......was able to continue riding and finish race.....still got 2nd a/g temp high 50's...water temp 64....had trouble feeling feet on bike for a few minutes race went well....great venue...Meghan was #2 o/a female and #4 o/a in Sprint overall good event time...raced against Javier Gomez and top American pros...perfect weather...several family members traveled to watch....Meghan was #4 o/a, #1 AG forgot to bring swimskin....could feel the drag...biked on AC expressway....run on the boardwalk....well run event by Delmo Sports....Meghan was 2nd o/a female in Sprint event had some fast high school swimmers this year...bike felt fast although wheel was rubbing at end of leg...Meghan was 5th overall female /1st AG...CGI puts on nice event everyone had a great swim because of the current in the Hudson....bike on Westside Highway....running in Central Park....overall a great venue 1st race as a pro....lost advantage because swim was cancelled....1st race with new P5....overall decent effort to start the season had a good swim and 13th out of water....moved up to 5th place early on bike but then got upset stomach trouble and had to stop a few times on the course....more stomach issues on run and basically had to jog and walk to finish race....made mistake of taking recommended salt tablets for first time....live and learn....a great experience in Kona swim was cancelled so expectations were lowered, but had strong bike and good run.... Meghan was 3rd overall female in Sprint event....great nations capital venue nice venue in Omaha, NE for first time....good swim, bike, and run courses....overall happy with performance....Meghan was 5th, AG....we both earned spot at 2017 Worlds well organized CGI event...very hot weather...beat last years overall winner's time but good for third this year...Meghan was 13th overall female, #2 AG. competed against several pros since no separate pro race this year....bike leg was slower for some reason....great weather....well organized event....Meghan was #3 AG. overall well-organized WTC event....weather was hot and windy...made the mistake of not pacing on the bike and paid for it with a slow run...will know better next time. had to stop twice on bike for chain/wheel problems...cost 8-10 minutes...new event organizer...too many participants for course...Meghan was Sprint 3rd overall female. nice event....dealt with heavy rain....sister Meghan was Sprint overall female winner a 1st class WTC run event....cold and brutal rain for most of race....qualified for KONA! my first WTC Ironman event...tough wind on bike....overall well-run event in Las Vegas happy with performance...great competition from around the world....exciting pro races nice event but for some reason went slower on bike....later realized position changed good race....sister Meghan was 4th overall female....storms cancelled awards disappointing results....arrived at event and learned swim was cancelled because of heavy rain and water conditions....organizers turned race into a duathon....just bad luck happy with performance, run got hot, attended wedding night before, sister Meghan finished 3rd overall female in Classic distance won by pro Jason West, happy with performance, somewhat cold and windy at race start, sister Meghan was 2nd overall female in the Sprint distance race no crash this year, top pros and amateurs from around the world, won $1000 in prizes for 5th....a well run professional event....sorry to see HyVee no longer organizing originally finished 4th AG and 22nd OA but then received 2 min penalty overall nice event, was told set course record, sister Meghan 5th overall female raced on the team of primary sponsor, Johnson&Johnson, nice event crashed on bike into a parked motorcycle which resulted in DQ, USAT 5.4, 5.5 jump 12' off the ferry to start race, sister Meghan was 5th overall female 44 degree temps, swim was cancelled, bike course tough, either going up or down hills, run course very technical as well....not my type of course great experience and London venue, rained during race, very crowded bike course, bike course included riding by Buckingham Palace....very cool. Great crowds. nice event delayed due to storm, crashed on bike course slick pavement but finished the race nice venue in Milwaukee, good swim and bike, had knee problem with run 89 degree water temp, lots of good competition, good swim and run, bike felt slow nice venue, TriRock was well-organized, beat several pros, won by Cam Dye many of the world's best at this event, swim shortened because of rough water 1st event competing with many of the nation's top pros....with 3rd place finish, qualified to apply for pro/elite license event moved to Ft. Lauderdale....nice venue....won by pro Oscar Galindez first HITS event....very fast and flat bike....well organized with good turnout, won by pro Alexander Schilling my 1st OLY distance....great swim, bike, run venues....well organized....nice event great venue in Burlington, VT....had helmet problem....missed AG win by 6 seconds where I started....nice local event....could be better organized....700 participants nice inside park venue....my first "official" win....well run....doing OLY in 2013 biggest race in Philly....finished 1st but was assessed 2 min penalty....OLY in 2013 nice venue in park out in the country....got scraped up good in bike fall at finish 2nd time doing event....nice improvement in times....1st race with new P4 1st race with pro's....great bike course on causeway....met Olympian Manny Huerta 1st ever race....will always remember....nice event, especially for beginners....happy with finish and knew this would be a great sport to participate |
